One small thing I could do today to make the version of me tonight feel more okay would be to stop scrolling. I've found that I keep reaching for my phone this week, because I'm either just bored or don't feel like doing the things on my to-do list. Scrolling never makes me feel good, though! It's okay in the moment, but after I always regret it. I've had a lot of headaches from screen time lately, so I know future me would be grateful for less scrolling and also more time outside!
honestly yess to this, i feeel exactly the same han. if i'm having an extra anxy week i can usually look at my screen time and then realise why! it's like a weird cycle you can get stuck in, i'm right there with you, i know it never makes me feel good and to make matters worse i usually go back to ig when i'm having a hectic week (like this one), even though i've rarely been on there since last summer and i know it never makes me feel good. i've been getting back in the habit of putting my phone to bed this week x
I’ve been off trad socials for 4 months, last week I was sick and feeling lonely and caught myself scrolling wayyyy too much on all the platforms - by the end of the week I felt awful and luckily I’m back on track again. There’s something about the rate of intake that really is a doozy! It truly does wonders if you can break the habit. 😊
it really us a whole other layer of overwhelm having hundreds of opinions and voices and faces and difference noises on your screen. i've had such a similar experience to you where i've been away from ig for quite some time now and went back on this week. it was monday night i realised id' been on there for almost an hour (and literally could not tell you one thing i'd see after i close it), and felt all kinds of awful afterwards... don't know why we do it to ourselves! but i've had it away since and i'm on a mission to get that screen time to less than 2 hours now x
Proud of you for getting back in the healthier lane. <3 That’s exactly what happened to me. I think it’s simply so addicting that if you’re on for more than 5 minutes you get sucked in!
That's great that you've been off of socials for so long! I love it. Ugh I know, they make it so easy to just keep scrolling, it takes a lot of will power to stop. Glad you're back on track! Hopefully I can break the habit as well, it's one of my goals for this year 😊
ahhh i'm so glad, i was almost finished with another essay and i honestly just needed to write this one for myself too this week so i'm glad it's found its way to you too 🤍 hoping the weeks ends gently for you and you can recharge that battery!
Yes I loved that too!! It's so true, we need to remember that we can't always give everything one hundred percent and we shouldn't be disappointed with ourselves when we sometimes need to take things at a different pace.
This is exactly how I’m feeling right now - almost on the edge of burnout. I need to remind myself that my life now is what I dreamed of even just a few years ago and to spin it into a positive that busy is a privilege !🌸
This really captures what a chaotic week feels like when everything is happening at once and your brain can’t keep up. The “chaotic group chat” line was actually very accurate, that’s exactly what it feels like when too many things are pulling at you at the same time.

Thank you! You have no idea how much I needed this right now! I love this visual of treating myself like I’m on the battery-saver mode on my phone!

So much really great advice here, thank u for this!!!
love this, the habit i protect at all costs is walking its my non negotiable
The routines that have actually stuck for me are the simplest ones. The more "optimized" it gets, the harder it is to repeat.

This list a life-saver, so thank you 🥹 I always keep it a daily habit to read substack everyday, and I'm loving it so far!
Bahaha, Michael Scott’s “I declare bankruptcy!” pic had me giggling! 😂 Love this post!!!
