Girl since I came back from abroad I realized that there are a lot of things I overlooked and one of them is exploring my own hometown. Now I make it intentional to explore the place I grow up and it's actually beautiful, the people, the surroundings, and everything that I just couldn't appreciate before but now I do.
yesss, sometimes leaving is what gives us new eyes for the place we used to call home. i love that you’re choosing to be a tourist in your own life now <3
ohhh then slow mornings absolutely deserve a little ceremony this week mary. i hope you get one slow and lush breakfast and no-alarm morning before that 5am returns 🤍
Not necessarily something I’m “not ready to give up” but a reminder that I love to read outside as the sun sets. I haven’t done that once this year, but August says there is still time.
yesss 🥺 august says there is still time is exactly it ☺️ that reading tradition honestly feels like one that will stay with you, i hope you manage to do it at least once this month <3
this came to me at the right time (two days later lol). this summer did NOT go to plan, but I'm taking your advice and not moving on to september QUITE yet.
two days late sounds like exactly on time to me ☺️ and yesss september can wait outside for a bit while you keep one hand on summer. even one little lovely thing can be enough <3
My summer has been a whirlwind to say the least. It feels like August will be where my feet finally touch the ground. I'm kind of grieving a summer I feel like I've lost, but this post opens so many doors for things I could do this month.
ahh there’s such sadness in reaching the end of a season and realising you never really got to be inside it how you hoped. i hope august lets your feet touch the ground slowly, with no pressure to make up for anything. one small good thing is enough 🤍
ahh thank you for saying that 🥺 i really do love making these, they're such a cherish tradition for me now too <3 i hope august has some lovely things up her sleeve for you
Hannah, you’ve quietly challenged one of our deepest habits: treating ordinary days as rehearsals for life instead of life itself. Your thought that August doesn’t ask us to hold onto summer, but asks us to notice that endings are often disguised beginnings, stayed with me. Perhaps that’s why the moments we almost overlook become the ones we miss the most.
Hannah, I love that. Arrival has so little to do with where we are and so much to do with whether we’re truly paying attention. Most of life isn’t waiting for us in the future. It’s waiting to be noticed.
Oh I loved this post so much! Much needed reminder to enjoy summer a little longer
ohhhh yes, we are refusing to pack summer away early this year ☺️ i hope she gives you one more lovely memory you couldn’t have planned helen <3
I so loved reading this - you have captured the possibilities of August perfectly.
thank youuu 🥺 i hope she's got some lovely little things waiting for <3

Slow mornings! I am a school teacher so my alarm goes back to 5:00 AM next week.

yessssss so beautifully put, i think noticing is how we finally let ourselves arrive in the life that’s already happening 🤍

Love number 11
ah yesss, it's such a little memory to make this summer before we all get back into the usual swing of work and routine in september <3
